I think i learned more in 2006 than i did in my entire life. actually, that is a gross overstatement, but i can say that i have discovered volumes about people-- why they do the things they do, why they act the way they act, why they say the things they say...and honestly sometimes it's literally impossible to come up with a comprehensive answer. They can just do completely nonsensical things that can either uplift one to cloud nine, or completely destruct one to unrecognizable pieces. There were a couple of times this year when I didnt recognize myself, and i didn't like what i saw in myself. Anyway, in a sort of adverse contradictory way, it helped me. I guess you could say that I have traversed from innocence (in a worldy kind of view) to experience. And its better having both than just one, even if the way you got to the state of experience hurt a lot. don't read into this too much, i'm merely musing. 2006 was pretty momentous-- I graduated, survived first term at UBC, and pretty much jumped off a bridge. People walked straight out of my life and people came flying in.

In a couple of days I'm going to kickstart 2007 by flying to Columbus, Ohio.... more adventures! I can't wait

       So basically, I have been swimming around in this inescapable abyss called final exam season...my only friends have been bacteria, and newtownian mechanics. Im freaking out over my bio exam tomrrow,

i really dont understand why we have to know that in anoxygenic photoautotrophs, ATP is synthesized by transducing a reaction called oxidative photophosphorylation, mainly having light oxidize photosystem one so that it can reduce photosystem 2, and in the meantime making an electroconcentration gradient by transporting H+ ions from the cytoplasm into the periplasm so that ATPase can harvest the energy created and use it in an anabolic reaction with carbon dioxide and water for biosynthesis along with NADPH in order to synthesize cellular macromolecules....

In other news, just when i thought I couldnt love Incubus anymore than i already do, just when i thought their musical and lyrical prowess could not be anymore spectacular, JUST when i thought that Brandon Boyd could not be anymore of a sex god than he already is, they spring this on me:

In other news emmy and i tried to conduct an h-core ( i still dont think i can pull off that word) bio study sesh and as you can see we were quite productive:

It's a cold Sunday November afternoon and I'm sitting in front of my computer thinking... well right now anyway my thoughts are revolving around:

a) how i'm really jonesin for some Red Robin's popcorn shrimp right about now

b) how i can breathe for at least 2 weeks before my finals start, because during that time my hermit-o-meter will reach it's critical limit

c) how my hair can reach my lower back groove; it's that long

d) how i really don't have time for this anymore

  I started volunteering with this program that teaches children with special needs catechism. it's incredibly different and so much more challenging than i imagined, because what we teach them is so fundamental and indivisible it sometimes seems impossible to explain and break down. it really grounds me though, and exposes me to life outside school and work and the whirlwind series of  uncertainty and bliss and worry and stress and complication that i like to call my life.

 But since i dont have much time to spare and you're probably not that interested in the nitty gritty, here's the 'bliss' component of my life, which doesnt happen often because i'm usually at one of the double desks and Koerner Library at UBC.

 So this entry should be a sufficient update of my life in a nutshell. Beside's 8am physics, I love life.  But after Dec 19th at 10:30am, I am as free as a bird!!!

So what is new with me?

 Got sucked into facebook....by god is it addicting. i dont even want to know how many hours i spend on that thing. Anyway, school is, school. I'm smack in the middle of my midterms and it's not very pretty. I have one history paper and one econ midterm this week, but then I have this weekend to look forward to! it's going to be glorious! Freakyback and then ms thang's debut and then next week is my birthday and then the week after that is katty's! i kind of feel sorry for our friends because birthday sprees like this are usually very costly.

 Anyway, in my history tutorial yesterday I launched a huge 20 minute debate about eunuchs. hahahaha i love it
